Home cinema, for the wealthy and famous, is no longer an extravagance. Many families appreciate an actual film theatre experience without having to leave their homes with more affordable technology. Let HGTV take you through the steps as you start creating a home theatre.
The construction of a home theatre may also be the real culmination of home construction. After the more practical work of fitting windows and floors is finished, it’s time to get deeper into your bank account and take care of your entertainment needs. Who doesn’t need a home theatre room, after all?
But there is more to a home drama space than a couch and show. So, to call this a real home movie theatre, such criteria such as regulating outdoor light and the capacity to draw an appropriate image should be fulfilled. Both video and monitor projections and large flat-screen TVs are subject to requirements.
Pick a Spot

The ideal space for a home theatre has a length of 20 feet to 13 feet and is relatively remote from the rest of the house. Rob Rickel, president of RSR Custom Upgrades and Improvements, said: “It needs to be in an environment that doesn’t interrupt the business of the house. “You don’t want anybody to interrupt the sound.”
Healthy choices include:
- Construction of a theatre outside the living room
- Closing of a formal living room in the open second floor
- Conversion to a 12-foot or more spare room
Insulate and Frame

It is like constructing some other extension to your house – with one exception – to the shell of a home theatre. Special attention to insulation would be paid to you. The average rating of R30 is the insulation of the floor and roof, but the inner walls cannot be ignored. Loosely packed R11, the sound of movie explorations will hold your home away from rocking. However, it won’t entirely block the noise. After you wire your room, you will have to add external sound obstacles.
Surround Sound Pre-Wire

The 7.1 surround sound system is used for most home theatres. This involves one subwoofer and seven speakers in the channel – left, right, middle, two surrounds sideways, and two surrounds rear. Take the following steps to pre-wire a 7.1 system:
Mark, where any speaker is going:
- Core – above the screen or below
- Left / Right – at ear level on either side of the panel
- Side Sky – just behind the main seat row on the side walls.
- Back Surrounds – on the back (how distant the device depends)
Pick a position for the center where your receiver and other A / V equipment will be based. In an interior cabinet or a close-up wardrobe, the center may be concealed.
