Two people who are close to you might be pulling you in opposite directions. Each of them needs something from you, but obviously you can't be in two places at the same time. You could divide your time, of course, and if that's acceptable to you, then it will also have to be acceptable to them. That's a generous way to resolve the matter. Don't be made to feel guilty if that's all you can do. There is never a reason to feel guilty because you aren't able to give someone everything they want. Do what you can without compromising yourself. If they love and respect you, they will understand.
