How To Become A More Organized Person

Do you know how it feels when you come home exhausted from work and then realize that you left your lunch at the office? Or when your phone is buried under laundry in the other room? These are just two of many examples where we all could be more organized, but sometimes you don’t quite know where to start. Luckily, there are simple ways to make our lives easier without much time commitment! This article will give you practical steps for becoming more organized with minimal disruption!

Prioritize What Needs To Be Done First

As with most things, it’s often best to start from the beginning. Make a list of every task you need to do within a given time period. Then, categorize these by urgency and importance so you can prioritize your work more effectively! Put the tasks that need to happen ASAP at the top of your list, and move down accordingly. There is no reason you shouldn’t see progress on multiple fronts with this method! And it only takes 5 minutes tops to do!

Don’t Procrastinate

The longer you wait to do something, the more time it has to seem like a bigger and scarier task. Make sure that tasks such as clearing out your email inbox or finishing an assignment for class don’t keep getting pushed back by breaking down what needs to be done into small steps. Also, try setting reasonable deadlines for yourself, so nothing gets missed! When you give yourself a tight deadline, it’s easy to make adjustments if you haven’t finished everything on time. This is also a great way to avoid last-minute stress before a project is due!

Simplify Your Routine

Being more organized is about being efficient, and part of that is having a routine that works for you! When your routine doesn’t work with your lifestyle, keeping everything together can be extremely difficult. A good way to start this process is by making a list of all the responsibilities in your life. Then, highlight the three most important items on the list. After prioritizing your tasks, follow through with those tasks until they are completed before moving on. If you have any time left after doing these tasks, it’s okay to spend some quality time relaxing or catching up with friends! You deserve it!
