How To Remove Mildew From Clothes

White Vinegar

White vinegar is an effective stain remover for all stains and odors as well. If there is any water build-up or detergent, then white vinegar is handy for that as well. Usually, when there is a residue of water and detergent, that can make towels and clothes get the smell of mildew. This is because these residues will trap moisture, and that can spoil your clothes.

A common thing that you can do is to replace your fabric softener and use white vinegar instead. You can use half a cup or one-fourth of a cup of white vinegar. Many people will wash their towels in white vinegar only, and this helps to remove any odor. 

Baking Soda

Getting rid of any odor can be very easy with baking soda because it effectively removes smells and stains. It can act as a good detergent. When you are washing the clothes that have mildew, you can add half a cup or one-fourth of a cup of baking soda and then add the white vinegar over that. Baking soda is sometimes used on teeth occasionally because it is known to act as a bleaching agent, and it can get things to where they are. However, do not use it too often on your clothes or teeth as it can be harmful.

Borax

You can use borax on towels and clothes with mildew, and you can also use this on clothes if they are filthy. You use borax to soak the clothes about an hour before you wash the clothes and add half a cup of borax to it. Then, after an hour, wash your clothes as you usually would, and you will see your clothes and towels much cleaner. 

Enzyme Odor Removers

The main reason that our clothes smell so musty is because of the sweat and body odor. To get rid of this, you can use enzyme cleaners, and these are very effective. Generally, the enzyme cleaners will have a lot of scents. If you do not like that, you can always look for more natural cleaners as these will be without the added perfumes. 

Laundry enhancers – Laundry enhancers are perfect, and if you try them once, you should be amazed at the results you see. Even though there is no perfume added to these things, your clothes will smell good, and you will be pleased with the results. However, it is essential to know that you might have to do two washes if you want all you can always odor to be out.
